Clairvoyant: What Does Clairsentience Mean?

A clairvoyant practitioner may also use the word clairsentience when describing their approach. In spiritual practice, clairvoyance commonly refers to reported visual impressions, while clairsentience refers to reported feelings or bodily sensations. These are descriptions used within a belief framework.

What does the term refer to?

Clairsentience is sometimes translated as “clear feeling”. A practitioner might describe a mood, a sense of atmosphere or a physical sensation as an impression. The language does not establish where that impression came from or whether its interpretation is correct.

How is it different from everyday feeling?

People notice emotions, body language and physical sensations in ordinary life. A spiritual interpretation adds a particular meaning to that experience. The distinction is the explanation being offered, rather than a sensation that automatically proves a spiritual source.

Discussing the language used

If these terms appear in a service description, ask how the practitioner uses them in conversation. You can ask for clarification, disagree with an interpretation or leave a subject unexplored. A label should help explain the format rather than imply a guaranteed result.
