Scorpio and Sagittarius meet at a seasonal boundary in the tropical zodiac. If your birthday is close to that boundary, a general date list may not be enough to establish the Sun sign used in a calculated chart.
Understanding the terminology
The Sun does not enter a new astrological sign at midnight on one fixed civil date every year. The year, exact time and relevant time zone can matter when a birth falls close to an ingress.
Reading it in context
The popular idea of being on the cusp does not mean a calculated Sun position is simultaneously in two signs within the same zodiac system. Writers may use cusp more loosely to describe a period or a mixture of qualities.
A question to take away
Ask which zodiac system is being used and how uncertain birth information is handled. If a birth time is unknown, keep that uncertainty visible rather than inventing a precise chart position.
